Erin's BIO
 |
Erin Starnes moved to North Devon at 18 and has lived and worked there as an outdoor instructor ever since.
The beauty of the area and the thriving local music scene inspired Erin to start writing and performing her own music, and through the encouragement and support of her local church and friends she recorded 10 of these songs and released her debut album ‘Songs from the End of my Bed’ in the summer of 2006.
In 2009 Erin recorded her much awaited follow up album 'Frog Street' and has since been busy showcasing it around the country.

Erin’s love of music stems back to an early age, no doubt inspired by her vocalist mother and fiddle and guitar playing father, where she learnt the piano at the age of 8. From that point on music found it’s place as a guiding force in her life. When her father taught her to play a few ropey chords at 14 shortly before his unexpected death she found a deep love for guitar based music. This is evident in her debut album which is a collection of honest, openhearted songs about Erin and her walk with God, produced and polished by acclaimed producer Paul Burton.
Since the release of the album Erin has been gigging around Devon and the rest of the country at a wide range of venues from pubs to churches, schools to festivals. She’s aptly accompanied by her band, which includes drums, percussion, accordion, bass, piano and Erin herself on acoustic guitar and vocals. With catchy songs and a rich sound Erin’s music has been likened to that of KT Tunstall and Alanis Morrisette, and in a great tradition of female singer songwriters, her songs are simple, honest and appealing.
